SUMMARY OF INCIDENTS INVOLVING LAW VIOLATORS IN WISCONSIN
1. Incident on June 24, 2023 – Arrest of a Drunk Driver in Columbia County
A 29-year-old woman was pulled over by the police for speeding and having a missing headlight. Upon inspection, she exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.14, exceeding the legal limit.
After being informed of her arrest, she resisted violently, kicked an officer in the groin, and continuously insulted and refused to cooperate. While being transported to jail, she requested to use the restroom but was not granted immediate access, leading to her urinating inside the patrol car.
At the jail, she continued to cause disturbances, pretended to faint, and refused to comply with police instructions. Ultimately, she was charged with resisting arrest, assaulting an officer, and fined $2,000 with 12 months of probation. Four months later, she pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and was sentenced to five days in jail.
2. Incident on December 20, 2022 – Woman Causes Disturbance in a Parking Ramp in La Crosse, Wisconsin
A 30-year-old woman was arrested after threatening a man in an elevator. When approached by the police, she refused to cooperate, resisted, and banged her head on the concrete floor.
During the investigation, police discovered that she had multiple prior offenses, including theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and disorderly conduct. She was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Eventually, she pleaded guilty in a separate felony case and was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
3. Incident in July 2023 – Woman Refuses to Leave a Relative’s Home in La Crosse, Wisconsin
A woman appeared at her relative’s home late at night, causing disturbances and refusing to leave, prompting the homeowner to call the police. After being told to leave, she returned and caused a scene in a parking lot. When confronted by police, she claimed she was “talking to turtles” and refused to leave the area.
After continued defiance, she was arrested and taken to jail, where she remained uncooperative and resisted law enforcement officers. She was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, fined $500, and released after a few days.
4. Incident in October 2023 – Drugs Found in a Vehicle in Columbia County
A 44-year-old woman was pulled over by police due to expired registration plates from 2018. Upon inspection, she appeared anxious, had an odor of alcohol, and frequently put her hands in her pockets while making suspicious movements inside the vehicle.
Suspecting drug concealment, police called for backup and a K9 unit. When asked to step out of the vehicle, she resisted and had to be subdued. Upon searching the car, officers found a bag of suspected drugs on the back seat. Subsequent testing confirmed it contained 3.1 grams of fentanyl and 6.3 grams of cocaine.
She was charged with drug possession, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also fined over $1,300 and later released on a $500 bond.
