  1. Mom and Dad

This book, with beautiful watercolor paper and illustrations, gives you the perfect step-by-step guide to completing each picture but also encourages and inspires creativity outside of the ordinary. I have found so much peace using this book and have bought all the other ones too!

  2. Laura Huffington

Like that it has clear instructions and uses actual watercolor paint paper,

  3. LB

I sketch and watercolor almost everyday and wanted something where I didn’t have to come up with daily prompts or drawings on days where I have less time or creative energy.

    * I love that this has watercolor paper so you can work directly in the book.
*The color recipes are wonderfully helpful. I mix intuitively and generally create the shade I want but having these recipes opens up a lot more colors I never considered and makes consistent mixing/remixing much easier. I found it absorbing and relaxing to mix the colors while learning a lot. The recipes will be excellent resources even after I’ve finished painting the book.
    * Clear step by step instructions to help you learn the techniques.
*The illustrations are pretty. Tracing them as part of the workbook is good for creating drawing related muscle memory.
So even on days when I want to do “mindless” painting this book tricks me into learning and painting mindfully without any pressure or stress. I purchased her other workbook as well.

  4. Marina Jacquelot

Gorgeous pictures to fill in. And off course great step by step instructions or freehand if you like!

This book is so pretty and the paper is really good quality theres no way itll bleed or soak. Its like a complete course on watercolor. Each page comes with a guide and suggestions on what colors to use and how and theres even practice pages before the actual coloring pages. Theres also duplicates im assuming for if you mess up on one, at least thats how ill use them lol and to compare my progress after a few months maybe. Overall worth it if you want to learn how to watercolor and have someone hold you hand without actually being present.

I used this book for extra watercolor practice while taking a 10 week in person watercolor course. I liked the extra theory explanations and that I can paint in the book. However the author has a specific palette they want you to use and setting this up takes time. The in person course was more about training your eye to color as you go, which suits me better. The practice areas are extremely small in places and so it feels like drawing with a small brush rather than painting. The final observation is they must use tube paints; my hard pan set didn’t achieve the same results. Overall a good practice book however I think it could frustrate a beginner.

  9. Jenni-Wan Kenobi

Beginner friendly, beautiful illustrations, quality paper. Hours of entertainment and learning here, when I’m finished I fully intend to buy her other workbook too.

Un gran libro. El paple es muy bueno, las recetas de los colores, todo está genial. Si quieres pintar acuarela sin complicarte con el dibujo, este es tu libro.

I bought this because I’ve always wanted to learn watercolor but I know I wouldn’t stick to following along in an academic style book so I bought this one since you’re learning to paint the basics and it’s in the same book as the instructions. Now all I can think of is getting home in the evenings to practice and paint. Don’t be intimidated, the author does an amazing job teaching you with simple to follow allow instructions and pre-drawn nature images to paint.

  12. James Ross

I was curious about this work book. I looked at it a long time before I purchased . The watercolor paper is of good quality much better then expected. I think this book is good for beginners and fun for times you just want to paint. It’s also informative enough to get you going.. I fallow the instructions at first but then I take flight adding things! So it’s good practice! I wish I had started with this type of book…

I love Sarah’s tutorials. I have included a picture of one I painted and then incorporated into a journal spread.
