Detailed description:
The Official Digital SAT Study Guide™ provides a comprehensive resource for understanding updates to the SAT® in the digital format. It includes four official practice tests―all created by the test maker. As part of College Board’s commitment to access, practice tests are also available in the digital testing platform, Bluebook™, at no charge. However, the guide is the only place to find practice tests in print accompanied by over 300 pages of additional instruction, guidance, and test information.
The Official Digital SAT Study Guide will help students get ready for the digital SAT with: • four official digital SAT practice tests, created from the same process used for the actual test. • detailed descriptions of the Reading and Writing and Math sections of the digital SAT. • targeted sample questions for each question type. • question drills by topic. • test-taking approaches and suggestions. • detailed explanations of right and wrong answers. • information on preparing for the digital PSAT/NMSQT® or PSAT™ 10.
To fully prepare for the digital SAT, we recommend that you also visit sat.org/digital, download Bluebook, and try out the tools in the test preview.

I am a private tutor and author of two books on the digital SAT (or DSAT). The DSAT is an online test that is taken on a computer while sitting at a test center (usually a school) connected to the College Board via the Internet. It is not a paper and pencil test for the overwhelming majority of students (there are some exceptions).
The DSAT consists of two parts, one for reading and writing and the other for math. In each part there is a first module that contains questions that vary widely in difficulty. The results from that module are calculated by the computer, and these calculations are used to determine which of the second modules should be presented to the student. One second module contains easier questions and the other second module contains harder questions. The combination of results from the first and second module determine the student’s score for each part.
Although this book is a good way to do a deep dive on some sample questions and their answers (in the first half of the book), the second half of the book could interfere with a student’s ability to study properly. READ PAGE 317 VERY CAREFULLY! It says that these are not the same as the online practice tests. The first and third tests in the book contain the first module and the easier second module, while the second and fourth tests contain the first module and the harder second module. This could easily confuse and possibly alarm a student who is taking practice tests using the book. In my opinion, students should not take these tests in the book; they should prepare by downloading the BlueBook software and taking the four practice tests online as designed and intended.

I know the quality of the book and as a teacher, I reviewed the resources and know that is excellent. If only my boys would actually open it….

I purchase this for my son to practice for the SAT. I thought it would be a good idea to buy the one from College Board since they are in charge of the test. It is about $10 cheaper when purchasing from Amazon. It is a great update, matching the digital version. Not only does it provide a study resource for the different sections, it also includes 4 practice tests along with answers and explanations for the correct responses. This is a good resource to have for your high school aged kid.
