This was a quick and friendly read for anyone planning out their home. We are in the middle of a full house renovation and I wanted to be sure I got the little details right. This is written for the ordinary person, it’s not technical and dry. It’s helpful for creating inviting spaces because it breaks down HOW to achieve the looks we see online and in print. How to arrange things, how to plan a lighting scheme, color planning-it is all here and easily accessible-it’s not lofty and unattainable-it literally breaks down how to create a polished and finished room without hiring a designer. Highly recommend for anyone with a space to live-apartment or mansion, the principles are the same!

The book is descriptive and provides excellent design advice. However, for someone who is new to interior design, the picture would be very helpful to visualize the advice. For example, the author talks about still life styling or colors or varying scale but without pictures it is so hard to visualize them.

I got this book because it had a lot of detailed information on Interior Design. I went to school for Interior Design many years ago and wanted something more up to date to be able to reference to when needed and to also just brush up on some design basics. I have found it very informative and look things up often! The pictures are helpful as well! I would definitely recommend this book if you are in the Interior Design Industry!
