Initially bought it for my child. He (and us) loved it so much that it’s our go-to as gifts.
The illustrations are beautiful, very well done. The stories are simplified, but not dumbed down. It includes maps and topical index.
It’s well thought out too. For example, the pages dedicated to proverbs group them by topic.
Highly recommend, even if for younger children. We got it when ours was two. We had to help him with the pages at that age, so he doesn’t rip them in his excitement. Now he’s older and uses it by himself, and he still has the memory of all the pages we read together, and where his favorite stories are.

We needed a transitional Bible because our daughter grew out of her “baby” Bible. She absolutely loves this “big kid” Bible.
Pros:
-The illustrations are amazing!
-Cover is sturdy hardback
-There are 278ish (I did a quick count) stories included
-They included so many of the lesser known, but really cool and important characters and stories.
-It has a reference under each story title so you know where to find it in the Bible if you want to learn more.
-It has a table of contents with labeled sections within the contents, making it super easy to find a story you are looking for.
Cons:
-It is pretty heavy, so brining it to church weighs our backpack down.
-Due to the heaviness, I could see how the spine might separate over time if you’re handling/lifting it from the covers.
-There is no attached bookmark. While that’s not the worst thing, it would be super convenient.

Most bibles for kids which we have read are either poorly written, have amateurish illustrations, or skip over many of the lesser-known books of the Old Testament.
This is an excellent version for kids. We are still reading or grandsons the Old Testament and he is enthralled with the stories. The illustrations are by far the best we have come across and the text is pretty faithful to an adult Bible. In fact, I think many adults can learn from this child’s version as we have. Highly recommend. Good way to give your children and grandchildren an understanding of the most important book in the western world.

You will linemy give this to parents of young children or a young child. Be aware you do not want the child to be too young ad they will damage the pages. I gave this as a Christening gift and the parents are very respectful of both reading to their child and keeping good things is good condition.
