A month before this book was published, I sequestered my kids for a weekend and gave them a “Here’s how the world really works” Dad-talk, so I was very much in the right headspace for this book when it came out. It’s a perfect sequel to the groundwork I had just coincidentally laid with my kids.
Everything you need to understand in order to secure your financial future is in here. Note that I didn’t say “Everything you need to know,” because you can go much deeper on each of the topics Scott covers. What it gives you, in one place, is the high-level view of all of the important topics. Having this book as a younger man would have knocked probably five years off the timeline for me to cobble together a similar understanding from multiple sources.
I’m buying a copy for each of my kids and will be encouraging them to read it. Thanks Scott, for writing this.

I like the author and appreciate his stance on certain topics. However, for a book that is nearly 300 pages long, there is relatively little utility. There are a few snippets of useful information, but overall the book lacks pedagogical structure and does not present as a formula for financial security as the title might suggest. If it were more concise I might have a rated it higher, but it reads like a book where the author is being paid by the word, or at least enjoys hearing himself talk. If time is my most valuable asset, then just get to the point.

I am a fan of Scott Galloway and his podcast so I found it fitting to get his book. This is a good book for individuals who have little to know financial knowledge. If that is the audience of this book then I will give it five stars however if the audience also includes those with intermediate financial knowledge, I stand by my four stars. Overall good book and would definitely recommend to my friends.

I’ve been a fan of the podcast for a while but I LOVE this book – it’s simple, funny, approachable, and covers all the high notes. I had already learned all this stuff *the hard way* over many years and many mistakes, and I SO wish I had had a book like this when I was 21. I plan to gift it to all my 3 kids and many neices, nephews and cousins besides!

Scott Galloways Algebra of Wealth is 100% pure gold. It is the very first book I have read that distills information about the complicated world of finances in a easy to understand and streamlined way. Some of the concepts I already knew, however it was fragmented knowledge from a wide variety of sources. Here it is presented in a structured way and it feels like a walktrough guide to reach financial security. The last two pages of this book “The Epilogue” made the hairs of my skin stand still and it describes with amazing clarity the reason why I so highly value financial security.
Scott, Thank you very much for this Book. For me it has reached the level of what I call a “dead sea scroll”, or in other words, a book that contains profound knowledge. One day I will pass it on to my son, not only as a guide for him to reach financial security, but also to help him understand what the endgame really is: everything meaningful is about other humans.

Galloway is a gifted communicator. This book is a solid overview of how capitalism, career decisions and investing functions in today’s world. It’s a user’s guide that explains the different financial stages most people face, career choices and the benefits of approaching each with rational investing steps and perspectives. Galloway shares his own successes, regrets and lucky choices. The only advice I disagreed with was suggesting using cash exclusively when making purchases and beginning to save. It’s a discipline approach, but having one credit card that must be paid off monthly would have similar benefits plus a record of every expenditure, an emergency source of money, consumer protection and helping to build a good credit rating as well.

Appreciate Galloways wholistic take on building wealth. It’s incredible practical while still addressing the importance of intent and financial anxiety.

It’s the first book, that tells the truth how to invest (which was also my opinion before start reading it): investing needs dedication and time. Unless you’re really wealthy, it’s your job – you can outsource some specific executions to experts (like for taxes), but the accountability for your decision is exclusively on you.
