NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
From TikTok star and Your (favorite) Rich BFF Vivian Tu, the definitive book on personal finance for a new generation
When Vivian Tu started working on Wall Street fresh from undergrad, all she knew was that she was making more money than she had ever seen in her life. But it wasn’t until she found a mentor of her own on the trading floor that she began to understand what wealthy people knew intuitively—the secrets to beating the proverbial financial game that has, for too long, been male, pale, and stale.
Building on the lessons she learned on Wall Street about money and the markets, Vivian now offers her best personal finance tips and tricks to readers of all ages and demographics, so that anyone can get rich, whether you grew up knowing the rules to the game or not. Vivian will be your mentor, dispensing fresh, no-BS advice on how to think like a rich person and create smart money habits. Throughout the pages of Rich AF,Vivian will break down her best recommendations to help you:
- Maximize your earnings to get more out of your 9-to-5
- Understand the differences between savings accounts, and where you should keep your money
- Identify the tax strategies and (legal) loopholes you need to retire in style
- Overcome investing fears to secure wealth for generations
And much more!
Rich AF will equip readers with the tools and knowledge to not only understand the financial landscape, but to build a financial strategy of their own. And with Your Rich BFF at your side, you’ll be able to start your financial journey already in an affluent mindset, making the most of your money and growing your wealth for years to come.

It’s great for beginners! There are a lot of pop culture references and informal lingo and stories that makes this book entertaining to read too! It’s also not too technical and easy to understand. Vivian also offers some free resources and tools that can be found on her website.

As I’m growing into “financial success” I look back at what my parents taught me and what Suze Orman and Richard Kiyosaki taught me and I am like, “There’s so much more than this and there’s a way people get rich and it’s NOT this way.”
I was wary of the title because it felt like some kinda kitchy approach but the content in it is solid, readable, and enthusiastic. Despite me thinking I had my life dialed, I still got a couple great tips in it and I recommended it to all of my employees.
This should be the money management book for everyone. She’s right. She’s REALLY REALLY right.

I’m not new to the world of personal finance books and I’ve gotta say, Vivian makes personal finance easy and stress-free (emphasis on the “stress-free” part). See, So many folks in the personal finance space to a lot of money-shaming talk and I think Vivian never lets you forget that it’s your bestie- yes, your bestie- that is explaining all things banking, debt, credit cards, investing… you feel like she’s on your side the whole time and is rooting for you.
Best yet, she uses easy analogies and examples to explain even the most convoluted concepts (see her tax bracket section in Chapter 6 for evidence of this).
I give Vivian a standing OV with this book, which is so desperately needed in our times.
I highly recommend “Rich AF!”

Rich AF: The Winning Money Mindset That Will Change Your Life by Vivian Tu is a transformative read that demystifies the often intimidating world of finance, making it accessible and engaging for everyone, regardless of their financial literacy level. This book is not just another finance guide; it’s a refreshing take on how to cultivate a winning mindset towards money, wealth, and success.
What sets this book apart is its approachability. Vivian Tu writes in a conversational tone that feels like chatting with a wise, financially savvy friend rather than sifting through a textbook full of jargon. This makes “Rich AF” an incredibly easy read, so much so that I found myself turning the last page after just three days, eager to apply the insights and strategies discussed.
The book’s strength lies in its ability to speak to a broad audience. Vivian’s guidance is practical, grounded in real-life experiences and examples that resonate with a wide range of readers.
One of the most compelling aspects of “Rich AF” is its emphasis on mindset. It’s not merely about the mechanics of managing money but about shifting your perspective to embrace abundance, strategic thinking, and proactive financial management. This approach ensures readers don’t feel belittled or overwhelmed; instead, you’ll finish the book feeling empowered, informed, and ready to take control of your financial future.

I wish I had this in my early 20s when I really was confused about finance! If you’re a bit older or have done work to sort your money already you likely won’t find anything you didn’t already know hence the 3 stars, but otherwise a fun read especially if you’re a Vivian fan from her socials.

While I’m 35, felt like I was reading a book meant for the late 20s. Doesn’t matter .. learnt a lot and the writing makes it a fun read.

Just finished Vivian Tu’s debut book, Rich AF. I say “debut” because I am fully confident that we will see more literary gems from her in the future. I have read a few finance books and articles in my time, but this one is different. It is informative, but also lighthearted and funny. You will not be chastised for making poor money choices; instead, she encourages using them as teachable moments. This book is inclusive to all backgrounds and is an enjoyable read. I am giving it to my husband to read next and will share it with those in my sphere of influence.

I saw a few of her interviews on YouTube and was sold. This book has already changed my mindset on my finances and I’m only about halfway! It’s easy to read and feels like advice from a friend. Really happy I purchased this book! It’ll be one to reread in a year or two.
