I’m trying to learn Spanish later in life and wanted a good dictionary to check my grade school spelling & choice of words. MW Dictionary meets that challenge of a reluctant student. BUT the print is tiny which is hard on older eyes. However, I also wanted a “pocket” sized book to make it easier to bring along. So 4 stars for now & I’ll come back in a few months of use if the rating needs to be changed.

Our son said it won’t fit in his pocket but it does fit in an adult pocket. If you are ever walking down the street feel the urge to spell stuff in Spanish this dictionary is for you.

南米バックパック用に、西英の辞書を探していました。
oxfordと迷ったのですが、こちらに決めました。
amazon.comのレビューを見ている限り、pocket dictionaryとしては、
oxfordの方が評判は良かったです。
merriamは、文字は小さくて見にくいし、内容も充実していない、
というような指摘がありました。
ページ数もoxford pocketの半分ぐらい。
私ごときには充実した内容も必要ないですし、
こちらにしましたが、届いて正解だったと思いました。
こちらは普通のいわゆるpocket dictionaryの半分ぐらいの大きさ、
1/3くらいの重さの印象です。
大きめのポケットならば、入れて歩くこともできると思います。
（ほとんどの服のポケットには入らないでしょうが。）
文字は小さいです。毎日学校に持っていくとか、
車に置いておくならば、他の辞書のほうがいいと思います。

The book has extremely small text. Buy a magnifying glass if you have bad vision, because it’s hard to read.
Useful book, it has Spanish words translated to English, and the other half (you can even see a black line in the middle of the book to separate the two), English words translated to Spanish.

The media could not be loaded.
The dictionary comes at a great price and is very thorough. The only downside is since it’s a pocket dictionary the text can be very hard to read for some. If you don’t need this in your pocket at all times I’d suggest going for a bigger size.

I bought this for my granddaughter as she and a group of her school friends are leaving on a trip to Latin America. She has taken her 2nd year Spanish but I thought that a referral book would come in handy. Upon seeing this book, she was very happy to have it as part of her ‘be prepared’ items.
Thank you for creating a guide that is purse or pocket friendly and an easy-access to language usage, etc.
