Love the artwork, my niece loved it too and i read it to her. She understood most of it. She also picked out a couple words she recognizeed before we read it. She’s is excited to be in a higher grade.

I needed to find a good book about Kindergarten that my autistic son (5) would actually let me read. We have at least 598 thousand books, but he doesn’t let me read them. He’s getting the first day jitters, so I took a risk and ordered this one based on all the positive reviews.
HE LOVES IT! We read it at least 5 times the first day we got it, and he asked me to read it again before bed. Most of the pages resonate with him because he did those things in pre-k. His favorite part is the “crisscross applesauce” section with all the funny sayings (like “Not blueberry jelly on your belly”).
I love how each page (or couple of pages) has a specific topic. They even talk about losing a tooth!!! They explain field trips, show & tell, different subjects, friendships, recess, etc.
It’s a longer read than I expected, but he loves it! I highly recommend this if your kindergartner is nervous or doesn’t usually enjoy reading. 👍🏼

As a teacher I find it so important to use stories to teach kids about the world. This book is great to read to a rising kindergartener to build confidence an excitement around their new school and teacher.

Would have been great if my granddaughter had not been to preschool as a lot of the contents were things she had already done in preschool. A well done book though!

My patients are loving this new book. It really helps them get a feel of what to expect in Kindergarten. Great for decreasing the nervousness that school may bring.
