INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

An Instant Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Indie Bestseller

“This book is for any parent who has ever struggled under the substantial weight of caregiving—which is to say, all of us. Good Inside is not only a wise and practical guide to raising resilient, emotionally healthy kids, it’s also a supportive resource for overwhelmed parents who need more compassion and less stress. Dr. Becky is the smart, thoughtful, in-the-trenches parenting expert we’ve been waiting for!”—Eve Rodsky, New York Times bestselling author of Fair Play and Find Your Unicorn Space

Dr. Becky Kennedy, wildly popular parenting expert and creator of @drbeckyatgoodinside, shares her groundbreaking approach to raising kids and offers practical strategies for parenting in a way that feels good.

Over the past several years, Dr. Becky Kennedy—known to her followers as “Dr. Becky”—has been sparking a parenting revolution. Millions of parents, tired of following advice that either doesn’t work or simply doesn’t feel good, have embraced Dr. Becky’s empowering and effective approach, a model that prioritizes connecting with our kids over correcting them.

Parents have long been sold a model of childrearing that simply doesn’t work. From reward charts to time outs, many popular parenting approaches are based on shaping behavior, not raising humans. These techniques don’t build the skills kids need for life, or account for their complex emotional needs. Add to that parents’ complicated relationships with their own upbringings, and it’s easy to see why so many caretakers feel lost, burned out, and worried they’re failing their kids. In Good Inside, Dr. Becky shares her parenting philosophy, complete with actionable strategies, that will help parents move from uncertainty and self-blame to confidence and sturdy leadership.

Offering perspective-shifting parenting principles and troubleshooting for specific scenarios—including sibling rivalry, separation anxiety, tantrums, and more—Good Inside is a comprehensive resource for a generation of parents looking for a new way to raise their kids while still setting them up for a lifetime of self-regulation, confidence, and resilience.

I have read a lot of books on child education and parenting but hands down, this one is the best. This book is an eye opener, the author is so authentic and everything she explains makes sense. This is one book that you probably read and read again over the years as children grow up. What I love about this author is that her methods actually work ! I love her mindset, her way of seeing things differently. (This book opens your eye without making you feel guilty as a parent). When you read this book, you can also feel that her methods feel right. This is not one of those superficial parenting book telling you what to do, it makes you think.

  2. Kyle & Paige

A great reminder that even though your kids do this and that to drive you nuts, your kids are still so good inside.

I heard this author interviewed on the Huberman lab podcast and she was so interesting and when she described deeply feeling kids (DFK’s) she described my 7 year old perfectly and I thought I must get the book now! If you have a strong willed, stubborn child who reacts badly to a typical parenting approach (whatever that may be!) and you feel you are doing everything wrong raising them then get the book even if it’s just for the DFK section. Book overall was great and an interesting read. Even if you don’t buy the book you should listen to her discussion with Andrew Huberman which is free on YouTube I believe, although I listened via Spotify.

A part from the bible I think this is the book I would pack to every destination I will be going. It’s so impactful, full of great knowledge and easily practicable not only in parenting but all kinds of relationships. Thank you so much Dr Becky.

“Good inside” is a wonderful guide for anyone who would like to become a better parent, more understanding and supportive to themself and their child.

  6. Ximena

Ótimo livro para quem quer ter ferramentas para educação respeitosa.

  7. Emily Palmer

Becky does a wonderful job of explaining the why behind her recommendations. She makes you feel like it’s doable and effective. Kids deserve this book, every parent should have to read it.

  8. Shelley O.

I often read parenting books and find stuff applicable to the work environment. This book explains the connection on childhood and adulthood an how they correlate.

It goes over how two things are true when talking about feelings, which is so important to understand.

Its such a good book it became my favorite parenting book and I want it on audible to listen to it yearly and refresh the concepts.

Still reading but you learn a lot about your brain and your kids. Humbling and makes you learn without feeling crappy

Such a wonderful parenting book. I felt supported and seen while reading this book. I listened to it first as an audiobook and then went back to purchase. The overview is so helpful to change your mindset towards the positive of your child. It helped remind me how great my kid really is, even when they make mistakes. I also as a teacher and parent always say firm, loving, boundaries. It has helped me across all areas of my life!

  11. L.R.

A friend heard about this author in her class and told me about her. I looked her up and found this book. I thought, probably not going to help, and nothing new to learn. However, this is the BEST parenting/relationship book I have ever read in my life. I couldn’t recommend it more!! I can truly relate to everything. Very insightful and helpful! The strategies work better than anything we’ve ever done with my PANS diagnosed SPD son. Buy the book!

I would give this life-changing book 100 stars. I had never heard of Dr. Becky Kennedy before I listened to it–where have I been?? I have recommended it to all my clients–those with kids and those without kids. Dr. Kennedy has created a clear, honest ‘how-to’ book for being a thinking, feeling, kind, and honorable adult. I listened to the book all the way through, then immediately started again at the beginning. I know I will listen to it again. Dr. Kennedy’s ‘good-inside’ philosophy is not a namby-pamby Pollyanna wish that everyone could be nice. it is a powerful, bold, courageous, and transformative way of living that could actually allow human beings to live up to being human. About halfway through and I can already recommend this book. I talk about it all the time with fellow parents and help them to learn how we can be better. This is a great resource for anyone wanting to change the parenting cycle and help build those resilient kids who will be able to handle the crazy world we live in and that it only is going to get worse
