Detailed description:

Kennedy:

I’m the only woman on staff for the Windy City Warriors, and after years of putting up with a sexist lead doctor, I’m desperate to land my dream job with a new team next year. All I have to do is maintain my professional reputation for my final season in Chicago. But a Las Vegas run-in with the team’s shortstop threatens it all, leaving me with a fuzzy memory and a ring on my left hand. Now, not only am I legally bound to the most persistent man I’ve ever met, but thanks to Isaiah’s scheme to save my job, I have to pretend the whole thing was a planned elopement and not a drunken mistake. Isaiah Rhodes is reckless, impulsive, and frustratingly charming. He’s also my brand-new husband. They got the saying wrong. What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas…sometimes it follows you right back home.

Isaiah:

As the shortstop for Chicago’s professional baseball team, I’ve had my fair share of fun. But that all ended the day Kennedy Kay became a single woman. I’ve crushed on the team’s athletic trainer for years. I’ve flirted to no avail, so imagine my surprise when I woke up in Sin City with a ring on my finger and my favorite redhead in my bed. We agree to stay married for one baseball season, just long enough to keep her job safe, but in my mind, I’m using our time together to prove to her I’m husband material. Kennedy might be reluctant to join in on our game, but it’s one I refuse to lose. So come on, wife…play along.

Read if you like: The most loveable reformed playboy with a heart of gold, accidental marriage in Vegas, banter, deep characters, heart wrenching backstories and a couple that is so perfect for each other 💜

This series is everything. This book is everything. I live, laugh, loved it so, so much! My review will not be adequate but here we go.

Isaiah Rhodes is the shortstop for Chicago’s MLB team and has been obsessed with Kennedy Kay since she started working for his team three years ago. When they both end up in Vegas single, tequila takes over and the two end up married. In order to save her job, the two agree to stay married.

Isaiah MF Rhodes… oh my god.. this man is funny, sarcastic and sensitive. I am so in love with him that I don’t know if I’ll ever be the same. His struggles with anxiety were written so well and this man needs to be protected at all costs.

Kennedy didn’t have an easy childhood and she works her ass off to be the best she can be. I loved that she found a safe space with Isiah to be soft and she always showed up for him, including running eight blocks in the rain to get to him.

Ken and Isaiah were such an amazing couple,. I could go on and on about this book, it was literal perfection. I laughed, I cried and my heart hurts because it’s over.

If you haven’t read this one yet, please do yourself a favour and read it immediately 💜

The way Liz makes (Im)perfect couples gives chills, every book is a new discovery and it only gets better every release. I’m in love with all these characters, the pacing was amazing, as usual, adult characters having adult problems and resolving as adults, loooooove. Hope everyone can have fun reading and felling like a part of this beautiful made up family. PS: Rio’s book can’t come fast enough!

    5 stars!

Where do I even begin, this book this series just continues to blow my mind each time, the way Liz Tomforde writes her characters to make the readers relate, cry, laugh, swoon, be obsessed and emotionally invested in fictional characters worlds is unbelievable.

Isaiah is a the most golden retriever, “good boy”, type of main male character I’ve come across so far, his ability to make everyone around him laugh and feel comfortable even when he’s hurting is truly selfless. This man really just sends food and water to the main female character to make sure she is well taken care of during long hours at work is just chef’s kiss type of behavior it’s the little actions that speak volume.

Kennedy is the black sheep of her rich family, the one who is raised with no affection, no emotional support, she is just a pawn in the greater schemes to make her family reputation to stay reputable. She’s strong, intelligent and incredibly lonely just looking for someone to open her up, break down her walls and provide her with a safe place to live out her desires, her dreams, her place in life.

These two main characters are truly beautiful souls, helping each other, understanding each others flaws, I appreciate the disability rep with colorblindness and the childhood trauma of no affection which then later turns into an adult having issues with being affection or not knowing how to show affection. The character development had me laughing, sobbing uncontrollably, swooning over a fictional man, rooting for love, seeing past books characters making cameos is always fun and a great way to add to the storyline to show the found family.

Truly obsessed with Isaiah and Kennedy, once again a Heroine I can relate too on so many levels just like the other Heroines in the series. I cannot way for the 5th and final installment and finally see who Rio ends up with.

    Isaiah Rhodes!!

“𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚. 𝘾‘𝙈𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙛𝙚. 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜.”

I can’t put into words how much I loved this book. I think every book in this series just gets better and better. Liz writes such incredible swoon worthy MMCs. The entire series is a comfort read. The friendships of all of the characters are so raw and realistic. They feel like family, I’ll never get enough of them.

Kennedy and Isaiah, I adore them. Isaiah is clearly obsessed with Kenny and he never lets her forget it. The way these two found themselves drinking tequila and getting hitched in Vegas to then building a strong relationship that is built on respect, patience and understanding of each other’s struggles. They truly helped each other grow in so many ways and it was truly the most beautiful thing. Their chemistry was incredible, their vulnerable moments had me sobbing. Now I’m the one obsessed.

    “𝙄 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝, 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪.”

This book is filled with emotional depth, banter and so many heartfelt moments. The spice is spicing too, of course. Liz always includes some kind of mental health representation and it’s always done so delicate and perfectly. I can’t wait for the next book!

I was a little concerned starting out but was pleasantly surprised with how the story developed. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but this book had really well developed characters along with beautiful writing. You felt like you got to know MCs as real people as you followed their love story. It was funny, sweet, a little sad a time or two, and overall just a true feel good romance. Oh, with the steamy parts too.

Definitely One of my favorite book of 2024 and One of the best marriage of convenience of all time!!
Quoting Isaiah I live, laugh, love this book 🥰❤️!!
I totally raccomand to read It if you had love Caught Up (the third One) and if you love a romantic goofy Golden retriever MMC who tries every occasion to win over his Mrs.
I really like the FMC too!!!

This book was super sweet, a he fell first and harder type of romance. It was super well written and while mostly predictable it still made me laugh, smile, and cry. I LOVED the teach me and play along aspect it made the whole story slightly more enjoyable. I will say the family dynamics were a bit hard to keep track of, I would’ve loved some sort of family tree illustration and or just how they’re all connected. But over all it was such a cute story and very interesting to read.

Kennedy Kay coming out of her shell was nice but I do wish we had some sort of reflection from her on how the whole physical touch insecurity of hers comes and goes and is really only comfortable with her immediate family. I LOVE that she’s an MD and she ended up being the first female MD for the warriors. I have high hopes for Rio and dare i hope to say Reese’s book!? LOVE Kennedy and Deans relationship tbh I wish we saw more of that it reminded me of mine and my little brothers.

Isaiah Rhodes man oh man is he a puppy dog. We love a green flag man and Isaiah is the greenest green you’d ever seen. He’s thoughtful and considerate and funny and he plays baseball and HAS to be hot asf. He’s an Uncle to Maxy boy and again I love that they all call him Bug. I love Isaiah’s realization that he has Kenny and she and he aren’t going anywhere it makes my heart all warm and happy.

ps i love Kai still he’s my favorite 🥹

    3.75 ⭐️

Let me preface this by saying this was my first from this series and I’ll go back to read Kai’s at least. So, I’m going to assume my reaction might be skewed.

The brotherly love was top notch, and I loved Max too and want to read about how all the guys came to help out.

I enjoyed this book, it had such sweet moments and some made me emotional and I wasn’t sure why (Chapter 10). Easily fell in love with Isaiah but sometimes it was hard to fall in love with Kennedy since it took so long for her to realize that he wasn’t going anywhere. How many times do the other characters have to tell you that he’s been obsessed with you for months/years? Really frustrating.

Question? Where is the tattoo? Really wanted that to happen.

I will read about Rio, pretty sure he’s already met her. We’ll see.
