Came alright. School required to buy this textbook to do the homework. Had the content the teacher used but no answers to the questions in the book so questions were kind of pointless. Came on time.

My sophomore son and his teacher use this book as textbook. Definitely a must-have for students if they want to preview and review the knowledge in classroom. Also a necessary book for AP exam preparation.

Because students have different needs and tastes, this book fills several niches, but not all. Perfection Learning did a great job of hitting the CED (the College Board’s course and exam description), nail on head. The text is short and sweet. Good examples. Easy to read. Gets the job done.
As a supplement to other readings, including a spine text like Strayer, Tignor, Bulliet, etc., this AMSCO text is great for filling gaps and for review. As a solo textbook, though, I wouldn’t recommend it UNLESS you’re taking a lecture-heavy course from an experienced WHAP teacher, or you are a social-science-savvy junior or senior with enough background to contextualize these brief, to-the-point chapters.
If you’re an AP World History teacher, as I am, you can find some excellent reviews in instructor forums that expand on this. DO be careful with the key. It has some errors. The Q&A are minimal checks for comprehension. However, I’m very glad my students got this and will use it again, especially for Unit 9. If you’re familiar with the AMSCO book for AP Human Geography, this does a very similar job in a similar manner.

Greetings history buffs and temple raiders! When I picked up “Advanced Placement World History: Modern,” for my son I half-expected a textbook… and what I got was a thrilling roller coaster, rivaling the adventures of our dear Indiana Jones! Alright, while Dr. Jones might not literally swing through the pages, the engaging narrative and meticulous details make you feel like you’re on a global treasure hunt, sans the giant boulders.
Each chapter feels like opening a new map, leading you through uncharted territories of our past. Who knew AP World History could feel so… cinematic? I can almost hear the iconic theme tune playing in the background during my late-night study sessions.
For students ready to whip their history game into shape and fancy themselves as the next globe-trotting archaeologist (in the classroom, at least), this is THE book to get. Just remember to keep an eye out for snakes… they still aren’t Indy’s favorite.

We needed this for a Summer assignment before my HS child takes the course this upcoming school year. It was requested that we find an AP version with publish date from 2021-present. While the description states it is a 2019 publishing date, I took a gamble, bought it anyway and the book we received has a copyright date of 2022 by Perfection Learning. Just what we needed. The book is in excellent, new condition. Very happy with this purchase.
