I like this book so far. I have a pretty decent knowledge of music and some music theory. My main instrument is guitar but I’ve always wanted to learn piano. I work full time and have kids, this moves at a decent pace for me and has a good amount of challenge. The songs can get kind of boring so I also bought a book to have that’s really challenging but more fun, that one I’m moving through much more slowly but even that is getting easier the more I work on this book. There are a lot of videos that are easy to access through the QR code. There are some sections that say to have your teacher or find a friend that can play a duet with you. It would be even better if those also had qr codes. I’m doing this on my own and finding a friend that can play piano and that has the time to play through this with me is tough at this point in my life! My goal is to work through the books at my own pace for now, and I’m enjoying it!

Brought me back up from my childhood lessons that I completely forgot. Nicely written and works forward gently, does not dwell on simple things too long like some other books.

As an adult who always wanted to play, I find this book extremely helpful. I’ve tried learning piano on my own a bit here and there with various books. Now that I finally have a teacher, we are constantly surprised as we turn the page and say, “Wow, they just throw you right in there.” But the throwing in is good. It keeps things interesting, covers the material thoroughly while providing adequate challenge, and makes the concepts reachable. The book covers instructional technique, but also music theory, and I’m learning things I never learned in decades of vocal musical training. I would highly recommend this course.

Great book. I love how it progresses and helps learners start playing classical pieces from the start. I like the teacher duets. I like how it starts with just fingering. Not how I learned but really good for adults. First day, I had my husband play a duet with me! There are also QR codes for students to hear the pieces. I love this book!

Easy to follow lessons, including practice drills and theory. I especially like the scan code at the end of each piece where I can see and hear the piece played. As I do not have a teacher and I’m doing this on my own, it helps if something in the tab doesn’t make sense to me. Also nice that it is spiral bound, making it easier to keep flat on the piano.
