So much better than the last edition. The layout with abilities, gender and weaknesses is so much better than movesets. Best Birthday Present Ever!

Bought for my 9 year old son who is a big Pokémon fan. He says he loves this book as it is very informative about all things Pokémon. He recommends it for any Pokémon fan

These editions have listed the Pokemon alphabetically instead of numerically from the start, which is annoying, but expected at this point.
Now, though, they don’t even tell you which region each Pokemon is found in, which was included in the last edition. They replaced it with each Pokemon’s abilities and weaknesses, but there’s plenty of room to include it all.
I know they can’t make everyone happy, but the guidebook always felt more like a nature book instead of a game guide until now.

Fun! My son loves it he has read it several times. I tells you about: – Stats on more than 1,000 Pokemon – A-Z Pokémon Abomasnow to Zygarde – tells you about Gigantamax Pokémon and mega Pokémon – now includes the Paldea region Pokemon The Pokémon in the super extra deluxe essential handbook contains: Kanto region. Johto region. Hoenn region. Sinnoh region. Kalos region. Unova region. Alola region. And Galar region. That’s my review.

Look, there’s a bunch of griping by whiny people who say this should have been sorted by index number, but once you get to over 1,000 Pokémon, it just gets unwieldy looking for something in non-alphabetical order. There’s an index in the back that sorts all the Pokémon by index number and where you can find it in the book to assuage the whiners, but they probably didn’t bother to look in the back to find it. This has all the newer Pokémon from the Horizons TV show, so my kiddo is happy to get the updated book.

We have got the ladt few editions of this book with kids waiting months for this one to come out for the paldean pokemon.
However our kid was disappointed that the newest edition only goes upto pokemon 1008.
At time of this writing there are 1025 pokemon so no idea why they didn’t add all… money grab to sell you a new book in the near future.
Also they no longer list the region. The edition before outlined the regions the pokemon was in, this new edition doesn’t list the regions at all.

Missing current DLC Pokémon but no biggie. Just hope we don’t have to wait as long for an updated version!!

This was a winner. Gift for 10yr, who’s still learning Pokémon was very happy with this! Something that made him read.

I like that they added abilities into it but one they didn’t include hidden abilities and not to mention that move sets were removed, that was the best part of it and it’s not even a complete dex! They need to get it together because as it is this book isn’t worth buying

I need some help with this game and thought this book would do that. But, it is basically just a catalog of all the Pokemon critters with some very basic stats. None of the giant charts I have seen at web sites with grids of attack and defense modes and other insights on how to pair up for battles, gym strategies, all the deep game play I am wanting.
