Detailed description:

The hilarious, colorful #1 New York Times bestselling phenomenon that every kid wants! Gift a copy to someone you love today.

Poor Duncan just wants to color. But when he opens his box of crayons, he finds only letters, all saying the same thing: His crayons have had enough! They quit! Blue crayon needs a break from coloring all those bodies of water. Black crayon wants to be used for more than just outlining.  And Orange and Yellow are no longer speaking—each believes he is the true color of the sun. What can Duncan possibly do to appease all of the crayons and get them back to doing what they do best?

With giggle-inducing text from Drew Daywalt and bold and bright illustrations from Oliver Jeffers, The Day the Crayons Quit is the perfect gift for new parents, baby showers, back-to-school, or any time of year! Perfect for fans of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Sciezka and Lane Smith.

My daughter received this book for my new grandson at her baby shower. I have read it over and over since he was born. For a children’s book exchange, it’s now my go to book. I would recommend for any age.

This children’s book is by far my favorite book to read with my kids & they love it too! Who would have thought to give these little guys such huge personalities. A very funny & creative read! I laughed harder than my kids lol I highly recommend this book to both kids & adults! My inner child loved it just as much!

I am amazed at how creatively this book is written by the author . Great illustrations too. I got this for my 4years old and I ended up loving it. She likes it too. At first she did not get the context of the book, but slowly she is trying to understand. But she loves to listen to me reading this for her. Probably kids age above 5 or 6 may able to understand and enjoy this even more.

  7. Timkatmom

This is a fun and playful book with great illustrations. My toddler likes to point out all the colors.

I wouldn’t have given this a second thought until somebody told me it was a great story. This is the cutest little story for kids. It starts offwith the crayons writing to the child regarding how much they are being used and how much they feel they are being abandoned, etc. Very creative and then there’s a story beyond that but I don’t want to give away what happens.

I bought this for my grandchildren. I am a retired teacher and I can guarantee you, this is a great book! In fact would be an awesome book for an art teacher to read to the children or have the children read it aloud!

  9. Stella Star

  11. Megan

I used this book to reinforce color learning. The vocabulary is more suited to an older child, but having a conversation with my 2 1/2 child. This is a book that will grow with your child.
