I ordered this book for a little boy who doesn’t have band at school but fortunately does have a trumpet at home. He was very excited to get this book and I hope it starts him on the same journey that I took 47 years ago under similar circumstances.

I bought this to relearn the trumpet, after recently relearning the euphonium. I haven’t played in over 10 years. It is amazing how it all comes back like riding a bicycle. I recommend this book if you are new to trumpet playing or if you want your own copy of a year 1 trumpet book that the school provides. It is also decent to use as a warm up or brainstorming tool.

This is our third child starting an instrument, and Standard of Excellence Books have been perfect for each of our beginner students. Now on our third new instrument, we choose Standard of Excellence as our go-to book. The songs increase in difficulty incrementally, we love having the scales and fingering charts in the back of the book. You can be sure your student will get a good foundation with these books!
